About the Role
The Manager Resource Planning & Analytics leads the delivery of safe, compliant and efficient crew rosters for Flight and Cabin Crew, ensuring accurate and timely roster production.
The role provides strategic oversight of crew planning, analytics and forecasting, aligning crew resources with operational requirements and supporting workforce planning, recruitment and training decisions. Working closely with key operational stakeholders, the Manager ensures regulatory and industrial requirements are met while maximising crew utilisation and supporting the flying program.
The role also leads the Resource Planning & Analytics teams, driving performance, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead, motivate and inspire all team members within the department
- Develop and maintain team member performance requirements
- Develop and input department strategy
- Improve stakeholder engagement and ensure their requirements are achieved
- Development and Implement resource and training plans that reflect the latest assumptions
- Integrate and monitor workforce requirements, both Non-Operational (Training, leave, part-time etc.) and Operational requirements to deliver a single, central workforce plan for all aircraft fleets and bases.
- Provide re-forecasted plans to predict levels of operational and commercial risk based upon known schedule inputs and supply constraints.
- Ensure key input variables (e.g., training footprints, simulator/trainer availability, fleet assumptions) are regularly reviewed to ensure that outputs reflect operational reality while balancing efficient utilisation of resources.
- Develop annual flying and crew budgets in conjunction with Finance and the Scheduling teams
- Analysing and developing monthly, seasonal, and annual schedules
- Ensuring all operating plans and proposed schedule changes received from Commercial are operationally feasible
- Analysing and implementing all ad-hoc schedule change requests.
- Manage the short-term rostering solutions for both flight and cabin crew ensuring compliance with regulatory, company and industrial requirements, while providing an efficient and cost-effective crewing solution for Day of Operations
- Ensure the crew training pipeline is resourced correctly
- Integration and maintenance of FRMS requirements in new route/pairing analysis along with the pairings and roster production process.
- Modelling of proposed EA rulesets to assist with EA negotiations.
- Provide input into Cost Modelling of proposed routes/bases etc.
- Maintain crew leave systems and ensure accuracy at all times
- Participate in various initiatives and projects that will improve the department and/or business as a whole
- Think innovatively to evaluate, create, and implement cost benefit opportunities that improve working practices. (Including systems and process, lines of communication etc.)
- Research, test, and implement new software opportunities, as applicable
- Continually identify, develop, and adjust rostering processes and system to enhance the quality of the rosters and achieve efficiency and optimisation of crew resources.
- Identify deficiencies or opportunities within current tools (e.g., Crew Systems) and develop a working plan with I.T or the Vendor to adopt such opportunities, correct deficiencies
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced Resource Planning professional with strong aviation Crew Scheduling and rostering experience. You will be highly analytical, organised and confident using crew management systems and Microsoft applications, with the ability to make sound decisions and solve complex problems in a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
You will have strong knowledge of crew analytics, crew resource management, fatigue risk management and relevant legislation and industrial agreements, along with experience analysing data, managing stakeholders and leading teams. Excellent communication, planning and critical thinking skills are essential.
The ideal candidate will:
- Educated to degree level or business experience equivalent.
- 3+ years in a Resource Planning position
- Must be extremely capable with PC/Software packages including (but not limited to) Excel, Airline Crew management and Flight Scheduling software systems.
- Proven ability to analyses data and make clear recommendations to the management team
- Firsthand experience in Analytics or Crew Scheduling and the use of Crew Scheduling software
- Understanding/experience of Flight Operations / constraints
- Understanding/experience in Crew Resource Management, Rostering and the application of legislation and industrial agreements relating to crew.
- Experience in managing a group of team members, people management and performance
